Last week’s newsletter centered on what home means to me, and what it means to different people.
This week’s playlist, titled “Home,” does the same. From Justin Townes Earle’s unhappiness with Brooklyn to X’s ode to their hometown of Los Angeles, these are songs that explore what a home is, both good and bad.
Since it’s been a long week, this playlist newsletter is going out to all subscribers.

Books & Music I’ve Been Loving This Week:
Dinosaurs by Lydia Millet
Lydia Millet is one of my favorite authors, and Dinosaurs may be her best book yet. Deftly exploring the theme of what doing good in the world means, Millet’s prose is subtle yet poignant in a book that has echoed through my head for days since I read the last page.
Tell Her Everything by Mirza Waheed
Mirza Waheed’s novel Tell Her Everything is an engaging story of paternal love and personal integrity.
Boy with the Bullhorn by Ron Goldberg
Ron Goldberg’s book is both the passionate memoir of a gay rights activist coming of age on the 1980s as well as a history of ACT UP. Enlightening, engaging, and important.
It Grows on Trees by Raavi
Raavi’s new EP (released in May) is louder and more boisterous than the Brooklyn band’s previous efforts, but retains the lyrical honesty and raw emotion the band is known for. I can’t wait to hear what they do next.
